Prism was hired to replace one of the existing generators at the downtown Vancouver location as it neared the end of it’s useful life. Prism’s Electrical Team worked with the client from the design to the installation phase to install the new replacement generator. This included being on-site to review the installation as well as providing commissioning support to ensure compliance with the design documents and client requirements. Prism also acted as the prime consultant overseeing the mechanical and structural design that included the use of special structural supports in order to safely remove the old generator and move the new one into place.
The new 3 megawatt generator, installed in 2017, has about 30 times the capacity of a standard generator found in most commercial buildings.
