Energy Management Engineer
We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to undertake Energy Management Engineering. You should have an engineering background with strong knowledge of lighting and HVAC systems, building control systems, energy and utilities. Your assets include strong communication skills, team and organizational experience, technical strengths in building systems, ability to provide excellent client service and a commitment to sustainable design.
Responsibilities include:
- conduct energy audits, analysis and evaluations of energy savings in the area of existing building mechanical and electrical systems
- carry out field measurements and electrical monitoring
- carry out conceptual mechanical and electrical design
- develop project scope interfacing with client representatives
- conduct preliminary and detailed cost estimating
- prepare tender packages for procurement of equipment and installation
- carry out site reviews of installation
- coordinate and review progress of work assignments, and prepare progress reports
- manage company projects, including project planning, proposals, scheduling, delegation of responsibilities, project supervision, technical content and review, client liaison, invoicing and profitability
- assist management on marketing of services and issuing proposals
- take part in the improvement of Prism products and services
Qualifications:
- BSc degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Design Engineering
- licensed P.Eng. - registered or eligible for registration with APEGBC
- minimum of 5 years experience in the Energy Management Engineering field analyzing, conducting and/or managing complex and comprehensive energy management related studies and projects
- strong expertise in determining energy savings opportunities, energy savings calculations, computer simulations, building automation, and energy monitoring and tracking
- ability to work with clients, building users, project managers, contractors, and product suppliers in a professional manner
- comprehensive knowledge of the BC and Vancouver Building Codes, Canadian Electrical Code, ASHRAE, and other applicable codes and standards
- computer literacy including proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Outlook
- proficient verbal and written communication skills
- business and report writing skills
- knowledge of marketing and sales management philosophy
- excellent problem-solving skills
