Partnering with BC Hydro and FortisBC to Create a New Network of “Energy Wise” BC Organizations
In 2016 BC Hydro and FortisBC launched the new Energy Wise Network program to support BC organizations in developing and delivering energy conservation and staff engagement initiatives. As the lead consultant, Prism Engineering has worked closely with BC Hydro and FortisBC to design the program, create a set of 9 toolkits and resources and deliver a series of training and networking sessions. Through the program, we are providing 46 organizations with customized coaching on engagement and campaign development topics.
Training Materials and Summits
The program, currently in its first year, consists of a series of webinars and two 2-day conference style Energy Wise Summits. The Energy Wise Summits involve a mix of training, working, sharing, and networking. This format has allowed participating organizations to share their experiences and knowledge with the group while developing new skills through facilitated training sessions.
Prism’s Engagement and Campaign planning frameworks provide a step by step approach for organizations to engage with their staff and take steps towards growing a culture of energy conservation. In addition to training and networking opportunities, Prism developed fully customizable materials that included nine easy-to-use campaign planning toolkits.
Engagement Coaching for Organizations
In addition to developing programming and materials, Prism works with each member of the Energy Wise Network to provide customized one-on-one coaching support as members develop their campaigns and programs. Each organization has a Prism “Engagement Coach” to support them on their journey to inspiring conservation action and leadership among employees. Through the Energy Wise Network, Prism has supported the development of Green Teams and Advisory Committees, helped implement policies and operating procedures, and contributed to establishing a permanent culture of conservation within BC organizations.
